This event follows a series of seismic activities in the region. Notably, on February 8, 2025, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in the western Caribbean, leading to temporary tsunami warnings that were later lifted. Additionally, on November 28, 2023, a 5.1 magnitude tremor was felt in parts of Barbados, with no tsunami threat reported.
